From Bakke to Fisher: Affirmative Action Policy, Research, and Practice presented by Dr. Patricia Marin, Assistant Professor; Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education; Michigan State University

Affirmative action policies in higher education have been the source of great debate for many years. The greatest scrutiny, however, has been on race-conscious admissions policies. Using this policy as a focus, this talk will provide an overview of the legal framework that currently guides the use of affirmative action in college admissions, highlight the social science that has developed in response to this policy debate, and discuss the consequences of the elimination of race-conscious policies.
