Teach-In On Academic Governance
CHAE, HALE, and EAD have organized an upcoming event to educate the MSU community on issues related to academic governance during a turbulent time for the university.
With academic independence under threat around the country and the MSU community in a state of confusion and turmoil, it is an excellent time to learn more about academic governance. The teach-in on academic governance will feature speakers who are national experts on university administration as well as faculty, student, and staff governance leaders at MSU. Together, we will explore the basics of academic governance, why it matters, and review local events in light of national trends.
Time and Date: Friday, October 21, 2022, 1 - 4 pm US Eastern.
Location: STEM Teaching and Learning Facility, Room 2130. On the campus of Michigan State University, East Lansing.
Livestream: The event will be live-streamed on the MSU Academic Governance channel. To view the live stream, please follow this link.
A recording of the event will be posted within a few days of its conclusion.
Resources for further learning: To help support learning about how higher education institutions are governed, we prepared a short primer on governance with resources.
