Sara Bano
Assistant Professor
Sara Bano is an assistant professor of Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE). Her research work explores the nexus between international and comparative higher education and adult and continuing education in global context. Bano’s areas of expertise include adult and continuing education, international and comparative higher education, and transformative learning in cross-cultural settings. She is currently interested in the transformative learning experiences in adult education. Her research employs qualitative empirical methods such as phenomenology and case study to examine adult learning experiences in diverse educational contexts. Her work has been published in the journals of Transformative Education, Comparative and International Higher Education, Commission on International Adult Education and others. Bano serves as a co-chair for the Teaching International Education SIG (special interest group) in the Comparative and International Education Society
