John Dirkx was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2016.

Join CHAE in congratulating Professor John Dirkx on his induction into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2016. Dr. Dirkx is being honored for his extensive contributions to the areas of adult education, workplace learning, higher education, and online learning. Recognized internationally as a thought leader in transformative education, Dr. Dirkx has advanced research and theory on the emotional and spiritual dimensions of transformative learning.  

The annual selection of inductees into the IACE Hall of Fame (HOF) serves to “honor leaders in the fields of continuing education and adult learning, and serves as a record of inspiration for the next generation of continuing education leaders.”

Together, these scholars and leaders reflects the diversity of adult and continuing education practice and scholarship and the increasingly global leadership community represented in the IACE Hall of Fame. The HOF induction ceremony and celebration took place on November 15, 2016 as part of the proceedings of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) International Conference in Orlando, Florida.
