Center Faculty and Students Plan to Participate in the Association for the Study of Higher Education Virtual Conference

Sharing Our Scholarship

This year, 12 individual presenters from the Department of Educational Administration (EAD), specifically the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) unit, an affiliate of The Center, will share their scholarship at the 45th annual Association for the Study of Higher Education's (ASHE) conference! This year the conference will be held virtually, November 18-21, 2020, allowing scholars to participate and attend regardless of geographic location. 

Our presenters include 2 faculty members and 10 graduate students. In addition, 1 faculty member and 6 graduate students will serve as session chairs, and 4 faculty members will serve as discussants. Collectively, this group will engage in 23 separate sessions, including interactive symposiums, empirical paper sessions, and theoretical paper sessions. 

Additionally, the Center and EAD will host three virtual networking events. These events are open to all (conference attendees and non-conference attendees) and include: 

  • Learning about HALE -Wednesday, November 18, 12:35–12:55 pm ET Michigan State University - Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) Lounge. Visit with Dr. Brendan Cantwell, HALE Unit Coordinator, and HALE faculty to learn about our degree programs, faculty, and students.
  • Meet Our New Department Chair Dr. Sheneka Williams - Wednesday, November 18, 4:05–4:25 pm ET Michigan State University - Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) Lounge. Please join us to welcome Dr. Williams to HALE and the ASHE community.
  • Michigan State University HALE Alumni and Friends Gathering - Thursday, November 19, 6:00–7:00 pm ET Michigan State University - Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) Lounge. Please join us to catch up with faculty and friends from your time at HALE. All are welcome.
